One held for looting Rs 19 lakh from bank employees
Hoshangabad, MP, Nov 30 (UNI) A driver, who decamped with Rs 19 lakh when SBI bank employees were going in a vehicle to deposit the money in a local branch, has been arrested from Betul district, police said.
Shravan Gaud was arrested from the forest at Jampati village in Betul and Rs 13.78 lakh recovered from him yesterday.
The looted amount was spent on purchasing jewellery and motorcycle. Police were taking steps to recover these items.
Shravan had given the bank employees a slip had looted the money along with the guard's rifle on November 7. The vehicle was later found in an abandoned condition.
