Night curfew imposed on International Border
Jammu, Nov 30 (UNI) To avoid the infiltration of anti-national elements, the Jammu and Kashmir government today imposed restriction on movement of civilians along the International Border (IB) between 2000 hrs to 0500 hrs for two months, official sources said here.
District Magistrate (Kathua) Sarita Chauhan has issued the order in this regard. However, under exceptional circumstances persons needing emergency medical attention can contact nearest security force on police picket and give proper identification on demand.
This restriction is not applicable to the personnel of security forces, para military forces, and police personnel on duty.
This order shall remain in force for a period of two months from commencing from today to February 28, 2007, sources added.
Sources said this has been necessitated in the present security scenario in the state particularly in the border areas of Hiranagar tehsil of Kathua district.
