Men's 4x100m team dropped from Doha contingent

New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) The Indian men's 4/100m Relay team was dropped from the Asian Games contingent today after they failed to impress in both the trials at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium here today.

The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) conducted trials for both the men and women 4x100m Relay teams in presence of the Selection Committee members.

The men's team clocked 39.84s in the second trial after which the selectors decided to drop them.

Missing the flight to Doha are Arunjit Sivadasan Nair, Arvind Alaguvel, B G Nagraj, Vilas Shivappa Neelgund, Amit Kumar Saha and Vishal Kumar Saxena.

The athletics contingent will now have 37 men and women.

The Women 4x100m Relay team, however, improved upon their performance done in the last trials and clocked 45.44s in their second trial today.
