Hyderabd, Nov 30 (UNI) Hyderabad batsman V V S Laxman, named vice-captain for the upcoming Test series, left for South Africa this evening.

The elegant batsman, in all probability, will play in the fifth and final one-day match against South Africa.

Having scored a crucial century against Pakistan on the previous tour to that country that decided the result of five match one-day series in favour of India, Laxman however, missed the one-day mathces in South Africa.

He is now more determined to erase the tag of with good scores on the bouncy tracks of South Africa that suit his style of batting.

With just one ODI match left, he knows the responsibility on his shoulders to assist Rahul Dravid to bring team India out of the blues in the Test series in South Africa. Laxman feels the experience he gained in the two previous tours will help him perform better.

With his telephone ringing continuously as messages of goodluck poured in , Laxman boarded the flight, confidence personified.
