Lady SI kills self

Bhind, MP, Nov 30 (UNI) A lady sub-inspector who was posted in this district has allegedly committed suicide by sustaining a self-inflicted gunshot wound caused by her service revolver, the police said.

Ms Chetna Sharma, who was residing alone at the Police Lines Quarters, took the extreme step last night but the motive was unclear. The suicide came to light in the morning when nobody answered the door after the servant maid arrived. Deputy Inspector-General (Chambal Range) D C Sagar rushed to the spot. Post mortem was in progress.

As per information received from the state Police Headquarters, IG Reena Mitra has been sent here to conduct an inquiry.
