ING Vysya ties up with Assam Co-op Apex Bank

Guwahati, Nov 29 (UNI) ING Vysya has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Assam Cooperative Apex Bank here to extend ING Vysya Life Insurance services in North East India.

The tie-up in Assam is the first-of-its-kind in the region.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by vice-president and head alternate channels, ING Vysya, Rene van der Poel and the Chairman of Assam Coopertive Apex Bank Limited M I Lasker here yesterday.

Mr Poel said that ING Vysya life has ties with major bank networks in 10 states. The 55 bank network has a combined customer base of 11 million and 1100 branches. The tie-ups comprise one scheduled commercial bank, 40 Urban Cooperative Banks, 13 District Commercial cooperative banks and one private bank.

Mr Laskar said, "Being associated with a leading life insurance player like ING Vysya life in a high potential market will help us create value for our customers. Simplified products from ING Vysya life are well suited for our customers." The Assam Cooperative Apex Bank is one of the strongest banks in the north east with a network of 68 branches and access to over one lakh customers.
