ILO Executive Director to visit India next month
New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) International Labour Organisation (ILO) Executive Director Kari Tapiola will be on a nine-day visit to India next month to hold discussions with the government and representatives of workers and employers organisations.
Mr Tapiola, who will be here from December 6-14, will meet Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia, Labour Minister Oscar Fernandez and high-level officials.
He will preside over the inaugural session of a roundtable on labour market reforms in India, 'Towards Decent Work in a Globalised World', on December 7.
He will also deliver a lecture on 'Globalisation--Threat or Promise for Rights at Work' the same day.
