HP Congress welcomes cut in fuel prices

Shimla, Nov 30 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Congress Committee (HPCC) today welcomed the Centre's decision to the reduce retail prices of petrol and diesel by Rs two and one respectively and said it would benefit the common man.

Besides checking inflation, the reduction in their retail prices would also help in bringing down the prices of essential commodities in the country, HPCC spokesman Kuldeep Singh Rathore said in a release here.

Criticising the state unit of the BJP for demanding the state chief minister's resignation on the controversy involving ADGP B S Thind, he said, the party was only raising these issues to divert the attention of the public to the internal wrangling.

The BJP's demand for early Assembly elections was also ridiculous, Mr Rathore added.
