High level Israeli delegation to arrive in December

New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) Israel Deputy Prime Minister Eliyahu Yishai will arrive here on December 4 for a four-day visit, along with a high level business delegation, to discuss ways and means to enhance bilateral trade and economic relations with India. Mr Yishai, also Israel's Minister for Industry, Trade and Labour, will hold discussions with Union Commerce Minister Kamal Nath and will also visit Mumbai, Goa and Vadodara, a release issued by the Israeli Embassy said.

The visit follows Mr Nath's visit to Israel in November 2005 during which a Joint Study Group was established in order to boost bilateral trade to five billion dollars by 2008.

During the first nine months of 2006, bilateral trade worth 1.9 billion dollars has been recorded.

The Israeli delegation includes experts from defence and security, irrigation, IT, logistics, infrastructure, agro technology and medical fields.

The two nations enjoy MFN status and have signed a number of MOUs, the release added.
