Fire breaks out in Infosys hostel building

Chandigarh, Nov 30 (UNI) A fire broke out in the basement of Infosys hostel building in the Rajiv Gandhi Chandigarh Technology Park here this evening, destroying property, Fire Brigade sources said.

Police and fire tenders rushed to the site and controlled the blaze. The fire was noticed around 1730 hours when smoke started billowing out from the basement where some used packing material was dumped.

The loss of property in the blaze is being assessed. The cause of the fire was being ascertained.
