Fertiliaser production in October

New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) The estimated production of major fertilisers in the country during October, 2006 was 17.96 lakh tonnes of urea and 3.65 lakh tonnes of DAP as against the target of 14.91 lakh tonnes and 4.92 lakh tones respectively.

Cumulative production of urea and DAP during April-October, 2006 has been 115.56 lakh tonnes and 28.35 lakh tonnes against the targets of 113.84 lakh tonnes and 32.18 lakh tonnes respectively.

During the month, nearly 21.56 lakh tonnes of urea was despatched to the states as against the target of 14.91 lakh tonnes.

Availability of urea during the month was about 34 lakh tonnes. The position was satisfactory in all the states.

The sale of urea during Rabi 2006-07 upto October, 2006 was about 17.57 lakh tonnes which was higher by about 17.05 per cent as compared to the sale of 15.01 lakh tonnes in the corresponding period of the previous year.

Availability of DAP and MOP during the month has been about 23.40 lakh tonnes and 12.66 lakh tonnes respectively, which was adequate to meet the demand of the States.

During the month, the country imported 3.03 lakh tonnes of urea, 4.14 lakh tonnes of DAP and 7.58 lakh tonnes of MOP. In addition, 1.77 lakh tonnes of urea was also received from OMIFCO plant in Oman.

The cumulative import of urea, DAP and MOP during April-October, 2006 has been 23.43 lakh tonnes, 21.97 lakh tonnes and 16.19 lakh tonnes respectively, an official release said here.
