Eight buses damaged during Dalit procession
Hubli, Nov 30 (UNI) Eight State transport buses were damaged and vehicular traffic was disrupted for over two hours here today when activists of various Dalit organisations took out a procession, condemning the defiling of a statue of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar in Kanpur.
During the procession, an argument broke out between the police and the agitators, resulting in stone pelting in which eight buses were damaged. Following the melee, most of the shops on the procession route downed shutters.
The situation was brought back to normalcy after senior police officials intervened.
