DK holds demo on Kanchi Seers case

Chennai, Nov 30 (UNI) Members of the Dravidar Kazhagam (DK) led by General Secretary K Veeramani today staged a demonstration here urging the authorities concerned to expedite the cases in the Sankararaman murder case in which Kanchi Seers are the main accused.

The demonstrators shouted slogans seeking expeditious disposal of the cases.

Kanchi Seers Jayendra Sarawati and Vijayendra Saraswati and several others of the Kanchi Mutt were arrested in connection with the 2004 incident in which Sri Varadarajaperumal Koil Temple Manager Sankararaman was killed.

The case intially came up at a court in Kancheepuram and later transferred to the Puducherry Court following Supreme Court orders.

Both the acharyas are currently on bail.
