New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) Disgraced Coal Minister Shibu Soren, convicted in the 1994 murder of his assistant, will remain in AIIMS till his medical investigation is complete.

''Extensive medical tests are being carried out on him and till the reports come he will remain in the coronary care unit (CCU) of the institute,'' AIIMS spokesperson Dr Shakti Gupta told UNI.

He said Soren's condition is stable and he is under observation.

A city court today deferred till tomorrow sentencing in the case as Soren could not be present in the court.

Soren, who was taken into judicial custody immediately after the verdict, was admitted to the coronary care unit (CCU) of the Cardiology department on November 28 after he complained of chest pain in the court complex.

He resigned from the Union Cabinet after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh asked him to put in his papers.

Soren, who is also chief of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, was convicted for conspiring in the kidnap and murder of his private secretary Shashinath Jha twelve years ago.
