Deep to lead Bengal in Ranji

Kolkata, Nov 29 (UNI) Deep Dasgupta will lead Bengal in the Ranji Trophy encounter against Mumbai, starting at the Eden Gardens from December 1.

The Bengal selectors picked up a 14-man squad here today, retaining former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly.

However, Bengal may have to do without their charismatic left-hander, if Ganguly finds a place in the Test team to South Africa.

The national selectors will pick the Indian squad in New Delhi tomorrow. Kamal Hasan Mandal has been kept as a stand-bye for Ganguly.

Bengal under Ganguly had won their first match against Punjab at Mohali by 14 runs.
