Curfew imposed in Nanded
Nanded, Maharashtra, Nov 30 (UNI) Authorities here have imposed curfew since today morning following a series of incidents of arson and stone pelting in various parts of the city in reaction to the desecration of the statue of Dalit icon Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar in Kanpur yesterday.
District Superintendent of Police Fattesinha Patil told UNI that the curfew imposed at 0700 hrs in the morning will remain in force till tomorrow 1100 hrs.
According to him, the police have so far arrested eight people who allegedly indulged in arson and stone pelting in various localities in the city.
The situation in the city is tense but under control, police said.
