Bangalore, Nov 30 (UNI) Karnataka Governor T N Chaturvedi today assured a Congress delegation which met him of holding inquiry against two Ministers who allegedly indulged in gross misconduct and attempted misuse of government machinery during the campaign for December four by election to the Chamundeshwari Assembly seat in Mysore District.

Talking to newsmen here, after leading the delegation to the Governor, Opposition leader in the Legislative Assembly N Dharam Singh said that his party demanded immediate dismissal Forest Minister C Channigappa and Minister for Primary and Secondary Education Basavaraj Horatti. Mr Channigappa, who was also facing serious corruption charges, has allegedly assaulted and beaten-up a Journalist after his (Mr Channigappa) car was seized by the Election Observers for not having permit to use it for campaigning.

He said that Mr Horatti, against election code, had convened a meeting of teachers drafted for election duty and induced them to work for the Janata Dal (Secular) candidate.

Mr Singh accused former Prime Minister and JD (S) National President H D Deve Gowda and his son Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy of targeting the Election Commission officials for taking prompt action against JD(S) leaders who indulged in election malpractice.

"The apprehension of the Congress leaders about the intention of JD(S) to win the election at any cost was proved right", he added.
