Clinton compliments Sonia for remaining power centre
New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) Former US President Bill Clinton today complimented UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi for her special quality to remain a ''power centre'' without being in the government.
Mr Clinton paid this compliment to Ms Gandhi at a function to launch the National Pediatric HIV/AIDS Initiative of the National AIDS Control Organsaition (NACO) here.
Expressing his fondness for India, Mr Clinton jokingly also suggested that the Indian government could tax him for so freqently visiting India as he had proposed for people visiting US frequently.
However, Ms Gandhi said that Indian government welcomed these visits and would not mind giving him concession.
Mr Clinton's Foundation is providing technical support for the National Pediatric HIV/AIDS Initiative and is also involved in many HIV/AIDS care and support programmes. The Foundation is playing a major role in providing cheaper ART drugs to HIV/AIDS infected people worldwide.
