Centre allocates 3,500 MT wheat to HP

Shimla, Nov 30 (UNI) The Centre has released an additional 3,500 million tonne (MT) wheat to the above poverty line (APL) families of Himachal Pradesh, state's additional chief secretary Parminder Singh Hira today said.

The Centre has also agreed to allocate additional 1,500 MT of wheat to the below poverty line (BPL) families of the state.

Ms Hira, who revealed this after attending a high level meeting to review the problems and requirements of essential commodities of the state at New Delhi, said this allocation was in addition to the monthly allocation to the families.

She also sought timely supplies of foodgrains from the Food Corporation of India (FCI) and said it should supply adequate stocks of foodgrains to the godowns of the state.
