New Delhi, Nov 30 (UNI) The CBI today conducted searches at 11 places in three cities at the premises of four of its officials charged with corruption.

The searches made in Mumbai, Ahmedabad and Surat, against an Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), a Sub-Inspector and two Constables posted at Special Crime Branch, Mumbai, were for criminal conspiracy, abuse of official position and taking illegal gratification, said the CBI here.

A private person has also been booked.

During searches, some documents have been seized.

The three officials unduly helped an accused person in a CBI case which was being investigated by the accused ASP and it was suspected that some cash deposits had been made through pay-in-slips in the bank accounts of the two Constables and the Sub-Inspector and his wife.

CBI has also found bank transactions linking the accounts of the Constables and the Sub-Inspector and his wife with that of ASP, further strengthening the suspicion.
