Azad acclaims people's involvement in Kashmir's reconstruction

Srinagar, Nov 30 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad said 'public participation' played an important role in 'state's reconstruction and peace restoration in the valley'.

Saying thanks to people for rendering him fullest support in his endeavors to eradicate corruption from the administration and bring the corrupts to justice, he said every step taken during the last one year bore fruits which resulted in the development of the state.

''We have to plug the loopholes to protect the economy of state from being eaten up by unscrupulous and corrupt elements,'' he said while addressing a public meeting at Vilgam in the frontier district of Kupwara, once the hub of militants..

People of the state are now fed up by hollow slogans and peace disturbing attitude created by vested interests, Mr Azad added.

People in the state have witnessed a lot of miseries and suppression, he said, adding now a new era of development has been set in place with the Centre's assistance.

This scenario, he said, requires healthy workmanship temperament and zeal and quest to translate it into reality.
