Awadh Ex catches fire

Kota, Nov 30 (UNI) Avadh Express caught fire and its engine was totally destroyed at Lakheri railway station near Kota today.

A major tradegy was averted as the passenger bogies of the train were delinked from the engine by an alert driver and the guards. The incident occured at around 1640 hrs.

The reason for the fire was said to be short circuit. The train was on way to Bandra. The train later resumed journey to Delhi at 1935 hrs with the engine of a goods train, railway sources said.
