Uday Kotak joins ISB executive board
Hyderabad, Nov 29 (UNI) Executive Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Kotak Mahindra Bank, Uday Kotak has joined the Executive Board of the India's leading business school, the Indian School of Business(ISB) here.
Talking to newspersons at ISB school today, Mr Kotak said ISB, which had international curricula, faculty and students with global standards was reflective of a globalizing India.
The ISB would grow and provide world class managers in India and Overseas, he said.
The Kotak Mahindra Bank was planning to expand its activities in Far East, Middle East and Japan by opening its office and subsidaries.
The bank had raised 100 million US Dollars from overseas for its capital purposes and proposed to raise another Rs 300 crore for future needs, he added.
Stating that the networking of the bank would expanded to 110 branches from the existing 84 branches by March next year, he said the manpower would be increased to 15,000 from the present 10,000 in two to three years.
He said financial firms and the educational institutions should work hand in hand to create a quality job opportunties in the country with an aim to serve the society.
Dean of ISB Prof Rammohan Rao said with the support of leaders like Uday, the ISB would further enhance its position as a Global Business School.
Focussing on developing a vibrant entrepreneurial culture, ISB was implementing several unique initiatives to encourage entrepreneurship, he said adding that ISB was planning to establish a Trading Lab to impart training on various trading activities in the country.
