Two convicted to ten years imprisonment in NDPS case
Mumbai, Nov 29 (UNI) A special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotrophic Substances court (NDPS) here today sentenced two persons to ten years rigorous imprisonment following the seizure of two kg of heroin from their possession during December 2004.
Special NDPS Judge P S Bavaskar convicted drug dealer Salim Ibrahim Shaikh Chaddi (54) and Ramlal Fakirchand Loha (32) under section 21 of the NDPS Act.
He also slapped a fine of Rs two lakh each or in default to further undergo another one-year rigorous imprisonment.
On a specific information, NDPS sleuths had raided the house of Salim Ibrahim, located in Mahalaxmi area of the city on December 9, 2004, and seized two kg of heroin.
Loha, who was the drugs carrier from Chittorghat in Rajasthan, was present at the time of the raid and was also arrested.
Prosecution examined eleven witnesses in the case.
