Thane Police to get 6 new police stations: DGP
Thane, Nov 29 (UNI) The Thane Police Commissionerate will soon get six new police stations and an additional force of six hundred policemen, according to Maharashtra Director General of Police (DGP) Dr P S Pasricha.
Talking to reporters after participating in half-a-dozen programmes here last night, he said the Navi Mumbai police force would also get an additional 600 policemen in the coming days. This was being done on account of the increasing pressure and workload on the Commissionerate.
Mr Pasricha said a sum of Rs 43 crore has been sanctioned for the coastal police stations at Thane, where a dozen police stations are to be set up.
He said the issue of controversial Nizampura Police Station at Bhiwandi would be resolved soon.
Earlier in the evening, Mr Pasricha gave away the ISO 9001-2000 certificate to the Mumbra Police Station, laid the foundation stone for the Police hospital and stadium. He also inaugurated the basketball ground, renovated police guest house and the police school.
