Tenders invited for completed projects

Kolar, Karnataka, Nov 29 (UNI) Development works in the country generally see the light of the day after lying in cold storage for months together, but the Kolar CMC has treaded a different path by inviting tenders for works already completed.

According to sources, the civic body had invited tenders in leading dailies last week for nearly 30 civil works here, worth about Rs one crore. However, a majority of the works for which tenders have been invited have been completed a few months ago.

Meanwhile, the Kolar unit of BJP complained to the Deputy Commissioner about the way the civic body was functioning, alleging that it was trying to siphon off the funds, and demanded immediate action against it.
