Stalin visits reserved panchayats

Madurai, Nov 29 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Local Administration Minister and DMK leader M K Stalin today visited Pappapatti and three other reserved village panchayats and distributed welfare assistance.

The minister distributed welfare assistance worth Rs 25 lakh to each village.

Later, addressing the villagers, he said the DMK-led government was committed to welfare of the Dalits.

Underlining the importance of Panchayati Raj Institutions, he urged the people to approach the administration through the panchayat presidents and other elected representatives.

Panchayat Presidents of Kottakachiyendhal, Pappapatti, Keeripatti and Nattarmangalam were present on the occasion.
