SR announces speeding up of 42 trains from Dec 1
Chennai, Nov 29 (UNI) The Southern Railway today announced speeding up of 42 trains between 15 to 475 minutes and conversion of ten trains as Superfast trains with effect from December one, 2006.
Announcing this in the new Time table released here, a Railway press release said the new time table, priced at Rs 25, would be in force for six months, till June 30, 2007 and available at major Railway stations and leading book shops.
The Chennai Central-Howrah-Chennai Central Mail, Kanniyakumari- Howrah-Kanniyakumari weekly express, Nagercoil-Howrah-Nagercoil weekly express, Chennai Central-Bangalore-Chennai Central weekend express and Guwahati-Trivandrum-Guwahati weekly express were being converted as superfast trains, the release said.
The Southern Railway also announced change in arrival and departure timings of about 20 trains with effect from December one.
As per the revised timings, the Chennai Central-Bangalore Lal Bagh Express would depart at 1530 hrs instead of 1545 hrs, the Chennai-Central-New Delhi GT Express at 1915 hrs instead of at 1630 hrs, the Chennai-Central-Mysore Kaveri Express at 2130 hrs, instead of at 2145 hrs and the Chennai Egmore-Kanniyakumari express at 1725 hrs, instead of at 1730 hrs, the release said.
On the arrivals, the Howrah-Chennai Central express would arrive here at 0315 hrs instead of at 0435 hrs, the Nilgiris Express at 0510 instead of at 0515 hrs and the Bangalore-Chennai weekend express at 0515 hrs instead of at 0355 hrs, the release added.
