Rupee opens higher by 8 paise at 44.61/63/USD
Mumbai, Nov 29: The rupee today opened higher by eight paise and was quoted at Rs 44.61/63 against per US dollar as compared to its previous close of Rs 44.69/70 per USD, on fresh selling pressure of the dollar by foreign and nationalised bankers, dealers said.
Later, the domestic currency lowered at 44.71/72 during the mid-morning session, on account of short-covering by local dealers.
It is now trading higher again by three paise at Rs 44.65/66 per USD from its previous close, due to sustained selling pressure of the dollar by foreign and local banks, traders said.
