RS adjourned for noisy scenes over Soren issue
New Delhi, Nov 29: The Rajya Sabha was today adjourned for a second time till 1400 hrs with the opposition demanding that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh make a statement on the Shibu Soren issue.
As soon as the House assembled, Leader of the Opposition Jaswant Singh demanded that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh make a statement on the issue.
Home Minister Shivraj Patil wanted to make a statement on the matter but Mr Singh insisted that only the Prime Minister should do so.
Chairman Bhairon Singh Shekhawat then adjourned the Upper House at 1145 hrs till 1200 hrs.
Later, the House was again adjourned till 1400 hrs as the BJP members continued their noisy protests and stormed into well of the House.
