RR Industries to set up township in Madurai
Chennai, Nov 29 (UNI) The City-based RR Industries, a leading company in the business of creating infrastructural facilities for IT firms, today announced the setting up of a completely integrated township in Madurai at an estimated cost of Rs 4,500 crore.
Addressing a press conference here, Managing Director R Ravi said the company had bought and registered the required 400 acres of land near the airport, south of the temple city and the facility would be created in four to seven years time.
The township would comprise seven million sq ft of IT park, 25,000 apartments, four shopping malls, two multiplexes, two hospitals, two hotels, two recreation clubs, water treatment plant and special clinics for the needs of IT employees, he said.
Special pooja had been performed for the project on November 24 and the ground-breaking ceremony would be held on December one, he said adding, in the first phase, one million sq ft of IT park space and 3000 apartments would be built, involving an investment of Rs 600 crore.
The first phase would be completed in one year time and depending upon the demand, the subsequent phases would be taken up and completed. Of the 400 acres, 50 acres would be set apart for Special Economic Zone (SEZ), he said.
