Rectified spirit seized

Palakkad, Nov 29 (UNI) The Excise officials seized 11,643 litres of rectified spirit worth Rs 15 lakh from a lorry and arrested one person at Kozhinjampara in the district today.

According to officials, the spirit was stored in 353 cans and concealed under boxes in the lorry.

The lorry was on its way from Tamil Nadu to Ernakulam, sources said.

Though police arrested lorry cleaner Sainudeen, its driver escaped, sources added.
