Patna book fair begins on December 1
Patna,Nov 29 (UNI) Almost 18 lakhs books of nearly 10,000 publishers will be on display during the 12 day Patna book fair beginning here on December 1.
Talking to reporters here, secretary of Patna book fair committee A K Jha said that more than 250 publishers from across the country would put up their stalls in the book fair. He said that Penguin India, a leading publisher would also participate in the book fair for the first time.
State government had made sufficient funds available to all schools for purchase of books, he added.
The Patna book fair, to be organised by the Centre for Readership Development in collaboration with Federation of Indian Booksellers' and publishers' Association of India(FIBA) , would be held at the historic Gandhi Maidan.
Chairman of the organising committee H L Gulati appealed to the government to extend support for holding an international book fair in 2007.
