One jawan killed, 11 injured in twin blasts in Asom
Guwahati, Nov 29 (UNI) The ULFA struck again in the most volatile Tinsukia district today , blowing off two Army vehicles killing one jawan and critically injuring eleven others.
Official sources here said the incident occurred at Jaipur, one of the strong bastions of ULFA, at around 1415 hours when the Army were on a routine patrol.
The bomb was detonated through remote control and one jawan died instantly, while others were airlifted to the Dinjan base hospital near Chabua of Dibruagrh district.
The ULFA, which retaliated within 24 hours of the killing of their leader Lalit Moran, had been repeatedely targeting the Army jawans as the latter had been pushed to the wall.
Meanwhile, the ULFA had announced through a statement that they would intensify their attacks on the security persnnel in near future.
