MPCC demands CBI probe in Malegaon blasts
Mumbai, Nov 29 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee(MPCC) has demanded a CBI probe in the Malegaon blasts, saying the minority community was not satisfied with the investigation of the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).
In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, MPCC spokesman Sanjay Nirupam said,''There is a strong resentment among the minority community that they were being targetted as impartial probe is not being conducted by ATS and in this situation, it would be good if the investigation is handed over to CBI''.
Maharashtra Minority Commission Chairman Mohammad Naseem Siddiqui, who belongs to NCP, also made the similar demand yesterday.
Now both the coalition partners, Congress and NCP are demanding that CBI probe should be conducted in Malegaon blasts. The demand came forward after state DGP Dr P S Pasricha recently announced that the Malegaon blasts case has been solved and that the Students of Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) activists were involved in the Malegaon blasts.
