Mercury drops to 7.3 degree C
New Delhi, Nov 29 (UNI) A wave of chill continued to freeze Delhiites today as the mercury dropped to the lowest of the season at 7.3 degree Celsius.
The temperature of 7.3 Degree C was three degrees below normal.
The maximum too dropped to 23 degree C, one degree below normal.
The chilly conditions are likely to persist for the rest of the week with the weathermen forecasting no significant change was expected in the temperature during the next 48 hours.
Infact, they have forecast that the minimum temperature would drop further to 7 degree C tomorrow.
Today is the fifth consecutive day that the minimum temperature has hovered below the nine Degree C mark.
The chill in the air is likely to remain the next week too with the weathermen forecasting the possibility of scattered rain or thundershowers in Delhi over the plains of Northwest India from December 3 onwards under the influence of an approaching Western disturbance.
So, even though weather office have forecast increase in night temperature over Northwest India from Saturday onwards, the mercury would stay around 10 to 11 degree C mark.
For tomorrow, weather office has forecast that the sky would remain largely clear though misty conditions would prevail in the morning.
