Maharaja's death is irreparable loss: Rio
Kohima, Nov 29 (UNI) Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today expressed deep sorrow over the death of Maharaja Kirit Vikram Kishore Manikya Deb Barman, the last ruler of independent Tripura.
Maharaj Kirit Vikram passed away in a hospital in Kolkata on November 27.
Condoling his death, Mr Rio said the Maharaja was a man of concern and was full of compassion for the people of entire North East Region.
He was concerned about the tribals and their uplift, Mr Rio said adding that his loss was irreparable.
The state opposition leader I Imkong said the Maharaja's contribution and legacy is indelible and empathised with the bereaved family.
