New Delhi, Nov 29 (UNI) All out efforts to be made to bring about an overall balanced regional development throughout Maharashtra through industrial development, announced the state Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.

Addressing mediaperson at the India Economic Summit on the occation of signing of the memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with German car maker VolksWagen Mr Deshmukh said the intervention of the Goverment in acquiring SEZs by private industrialials would be limited to that of SEZs falling under the control of Maharashtra industrial Development Corporation (MIDC).

Industrialists proposing to set up SEZs would be welcomed with red carpets, he said.

The minister to draw industrial investments for the Vidarbha region in general and Nagpur in particular, he would participate in the Road show in proposed Singapore tour. He would draw attention of the potential investors towards the available infrastructure in the region. Investments to the tune of Rs 60,000 crore would be made available to develop Mumbai and around in coming 15 years.

The proposal under Jawaharlal nehru Urban Renewal Mission is under consideration at GOI level regarding development of 51 cities including Mumbai, Thane, Raigarh districts of the State, he added.
