Government to complete its five-year tenure: CM

Shimla, Nov 29 (UNI) Ruling out early elections in Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh today said his government would complete its five-year tenure before going in for assembly elections.

''The government will not hold mid-term polls and will complete its tenure,'' he said at a press conference here.

Referring to former chief minister P K Dhumal's demand for his resignation on the godfather issue, Mr Singh said he has a habit of demanding his resignation at the drop of a hat.

''I do not take him seriously now.'' He said investigations against the former chief minister and several of his colleagues were reaching a logical conclusion.

Refusing to come out with the details of the Rs 800 crore scam that he had mentioned against the former chief minister, he said he would bring them before the public some other day.

Mr Singh said the previous BJP state government was the most corrupt state government ever.

He said people conspiring against him would not succeed, adding that they had not succeeded in the past and they never would in the future.

Asserting that he had fought pitched battles with various mafias in the state during his previous tenures, he said his battle against them is still continues and would not cow down under their threats.
