Four members of family commit suicide in Pune
Pune, Nov 28 (UNI) Four members of a family have committed suicide in Ambegaon village off Katraj Dehu Road near here.
Balasaheb Jankar and three other members of his family - wife Anusuya (24), daughter Shamali (5) and son Hrushikesh (2) - were found dead at their residence in Ambegaon yesterday, police said.
The police recovered a suicide note from the house which stated Jhankar as saying that he was ending his life after killing all members of his family.
The investigating officer Senior Police Inspector Sanjay Pawar said prima facie, it appeared to be a case of suicide due to the hand-written note found in the house.
Jhankar used to work as a peon with Mahesh Co-operative Bank and was staying with his family at Ambegaon for the past four years, police said.
He is survived by four brothers and his mother.
One of his brothers is working in the wireless communication wing of the Mumbai police.
The incident came to light after neighbours who found the house closed for a long time, informed the police, who recovered the bodies from the house, police added.
