EC orders use of EPIC in bypolls

Hyderabad, Nov 29 (UNI) The Election Commission (EC) today ordered the use of Election Photo Identity Card (EPIC) in the ensuing by-elections in Bobbili and Karimnagar parliamentary constituencies in Andhra Pradesh.

The commission today clarified that any document-- already notified by the Commission in its order of November 24-- which was in the name of the head of the family could be used by other family members too, an official release said.

Similarly, any document in the name of any other member of the family could also be used for identification of other members, provided they could be identified on the basis of such a document, the release added.
