Dasmunsi's wife escapes attempt on life

Kolkata, Nov 28 (UNI) Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi's wife Deepa Dasmunsi narrowly escaped an attempt on her life when she was shot at thrice, while campaigning for the by-polls in Islampur's North Dinajpur district today.

Official sources said, Ms Munsi, while returning in her car was attacked by a group of people at Bhairobtola who indulged in stone throwing at the vehicle. In the meantime some assailants fired three shots which missed the target.

However, she received cut injuries from broken glasses after the fire was shot. Further details are awaited.
