Ceasefire with NDFB extended by another 6 months

New Delhi, Nov 29 (UNI) The Centre has further extended the ceasefire with the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB) till May 31, 2007.

The decision to extend the truce by another six months was taken at a meeting held here late last night. It was attended by four NDFB leaders led by party general secretary Gobindo Basumatari, official sources said.

The Government while extending the ceasefire, which was to come to an end tomorrow, has asked the underground outfit to submit their political demands by March 31, 2007, failing which it will cancel the agreement with immediate effect, sources added.
