Bush arrives in Jordan for talks with Iraqi PM
AMMAN, Nov 29 (Reuters) US President George W Bush arrived in Jordan today for a crisis summit with Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki.
Bush, who flew in from Latvia where he attended a NATO summit, is under growing pressure to take a new course in Iraq, where escalating sectarian violence is prompting even some of his allies to say the country is on the brink of civil war.
The US president has said he would discuss a range of issues with Maliki including US efforts to transfer more responsibility to Iraqi security forces. Maliki arrived in the Jordanian capital Amman earlier in the day.
