British murdered in HP
Dharamshala, Nov 29 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Police have found the body of a British from a forest near McLeodganj, about 14 kms from here in Kangra district, police sources today said.
James Blakey, 23, lying in a cemetery at the edge of a church in the town, was found with stone injuries on his head and face.
The sources said Blakey had been working for a UK based charitable trust for a few years now and was living in a Buddhist monastery in Dharamsala.
Ruling out rivalry as a motive for his murder, the sources said sniffer dogs were taken to the spot and many people have been questioned.
The sources said the British high commission has been informed of his death, adding that they had questioned a dozen people, including Tibetans, and locals in connection with his murder.
The postmortem examination of the body indicated that he was stoned to death, the sources said, adding that though it was a blind murder case, the police was working on some vital leads to identify and arrest the murderer.
He said a case under section 302 of the IPC has been registered and investigations are on.
