Body of a kidnapped girl found

Barrackpore, Nov 29(UNI) Police recovered a body of a seven-year-old girl from a bush near the Kalyani Expressway at Ucchegarh under Jagaddal police station in North 24 Parganas today.

The girl was identified as Sarmistha Das, daughter of a West Bengal Fire Service employee Shaymal Das of Vivekanandagarh of Shyamnagar.

She was reportedly kidnapped on November 26 evening.

Four people, including a cousin of the victim, were arrested in this connection, police said.

The recovery of the body was possible after continuous interrogation of a cousin of the victim.

Investigation was on and the body had been sent for autopsy.

Police suspected that the poor girl was killed by strangulation.
