Katara case: Bharti's lawyer calls media biased
New Delhi, Nov 29: Mr Subhash Bhuttan, lawyer of key witness in the Nitish Katara murder case Bharti Yadav, today minced no words in accusing the media of being biased and prejudiced against his client.
Speaking to mediapersons, Mr Bhuttan questioned the veracity of a report aired on an electronic channel which attributed to him what he had never said.
The report had accused him of getting Bharti Yadav to make statements in favour of the prosecution.
''Nothing can be farther from truth. I have neutralised her to speak truth and nothing except truth,'' he said.
When asked as to whom to rely on in the absence of a proper source of information, Mr Bhuttan said, ''It is false. We have always spoken the truth. In fact, it only proves the media as prejudiced and biased.'' His statement comes close on the heels of a photo journalist being slapped yesterday by Vikas Yadav, the prime accused in the murder case and Bharti's brother.
Mr Bhuttan warned mediapersons against legal action unless they mended their ways.
Bharti has returned to the country from the UK for deposition in the murder case.
