Accenture opens new lab in Bangalore

Bangalore, Nov 29 (UNI) Accenture today opened a new lab here, its fourth in the world, to focus on systems integration and software engineering research and development.

The goal of the India Lab, dedicated by Accenture CTO Don Rippert along with NASSCOM President Kiran Karnik, would be to enable businesses to reduce the cost and improve quality of technology solution delivery. India was chosen as the new location for the IT major in order to have an innovation team co-located with Accenture's one of the largest client delivery teams.

Speaking at the launch, Mr Karnik said ''delivering 'more' or 'better' can be done by increasing efficiency. But beyond a point, the curve begins to flatten as it becomes difficult to provide more value-for-money. The only way to do so is through innovation or doing something completely different. Accenture is a leader in this space and we are pleased by its further commitment to India through the launch of its new lab.'' The company had more than 23,000 employees in India, including significant professionals at its delivery centres in Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune and Gurgaon.
