58 children sent to juvenile homes

Ahmedabad, Nov 29 (UNI) A local juvenile court today sent 58 children, found working in eight factories in the city, to a juvenile home.

Additional Labour Commissioner (Gujarat government) P K Vasavada told UNI that the children were caught by officials from his department while they were working in various factories in labour- dominated Bapunagar and Rakhial areas of the city.

The children were apprehended under the prevention of child labour Act Cases have been registerd against the factory owners under IPC 370&374, he added.
