1 killed, 6 hurt in mishap on ghat road

Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh, Nov 29 (UNI) Six Chennai-based devotees were injured and the driver killed when the jeep in which they were travelling overturned after hitting a iron parapet grill at Tirumala-Tirupati Ghat Road here today.

The mishap occurred when the devotees were proceeding to Tirupati after darshan of Lord Sri Venkateswara at Tirumala.

Jeep driver B Subramanyam (47), who received severe head injuries, succumbed at the Government Ruia Hospital at Tirupati,police said.

The injured devotees where admitted to the same hospital. Their condition was reported to be normal.
